In 1978, three men from diverse backgrounds in the meat industry came together to form Jason’s Foods. Each had deep family roots in the trade spanning multiple generations. Among them was Richard R. “Dick” Lucaccioni, who recognized a gap in the marketplace.

At the time, most American meat trading houses focused on import and export. Jason’s Foods took a different path, becoming one of the pioneers in domestic meat trading. Their vision and innovative approach set a new standard and laid the foundation for a well-established, reputable business.

Dick began his long career in the meat industry working for a Chicago meat market. A year later, he went to work for Glenn and Anderson, a meatpacking plant on Fulton Street. After 32 years at Glenn and Anderson, Dick co-founded Jason’s Foods. Eight successful years later, Dick acquired full ownership of the company.

The following year, he invited his son, Thomas Lucaccioni, to join as a limited partner. Over time, Tom became the face of Jason’s Foods, leading sales, operations, and building on the values his father instilled.

BLENDING LEGACY AND FRESH PERSPECTIVES

Decades later, the Lucaccioni family still leads with the same commitment to doing right by the people we serve. In 2003, Tom officially purchased the company, becoming its second-generation owner. The family tradition continued in 1996, when Andrew Wenk—Dick’s grandson and Tom’s nephew—joined as an employee, marking the third generation of leadership.

With nearly five decades of excellence, Jason’s Foods proudly remains family-owned and operated. We are committed to the meat industry through integrity, expertise, and unwavering dedication to quality—values that have shaped us from the start and will continue to guide our future.
